A friend made a wise comment that I want to share. He said that the fourth suggestion could be keeping children in touch with extended family. That is so true–kids learn things from their grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins that broaden their perspectives immeasurably. Great suggestion!

Debbie, the answer was that databases provide authoritative, timely information while Google results are much more random. We didn’t go beyond that as the person who asked the question admitted he had never looked at the databases, so hopefully he will now!

Thanks for sharing that. Do you know what the response was concerning the databases? (some of them are perhaps not worth their cost but others?)…sounds like good fodder for our PR newsletter perhaps!
